Food producer relocates to southern Indiana
An Illinois producer of gluten-free and allergy-friendly foods has relocated to southern Indiana and opened its new facility at the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville on Thursday.
Enjoy Life Foods plans to create a total of 200 new jobs in North America’s largest allergy-friendly bakery by the end of 2017.
"Having the largest dedicated allergy-friendly bakery in North America also allows us to further grow our operations to provide even more great-tasting products to families across the U.S. and Canada, while expanding our reach to people seeking allergy-friendly food options around the world,” said Joel Warady, chief marketing and innovation officer at Enjoy Life Foods.
According to the company, 150 individuals are currently employed nationwide and 100 employees have been hired as part of its growth plans in Jeffersonville.
“Indiana’s low-cost, low-tax business climate continues to attract companies from around the country and the world. Today’s news is yet another example of a company moving from Illinois to Indiana to take advantage of Indiana’s central location and skilled workforce,” said Governor Mike Pence.
The company is the third agribusiness to announce expansion or locating its operations in Indiana within a week.
