Former Notre Dame recruitment coordinator sentenced for child exploitation

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Former Notre Dame recruitment coordinator Geoffrey Carter was sentenced to 5 years for child exploitation. Carter was arrested in November 2024.
Carter was sentenced to 5 years for child exploitation. The sentence includes 5 years in prison with 130 days of jail credit, followed by 4 years and 235 days of suspension. As part of this sentence, Carter was placed on 5 years of probation.
Carter also received a separate sentence of 2 years. This sentence is for:
- Possession of child pornography
- Child seduction (as a guardian, adoptive parent, adoptive grandparent, custodian, or stepparent)
- Voyeurism (using a camera)
