Former probation department employee arraigned on bribery, official misconduct charges

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A former laboratory assistant with the St. Joseph County Adult Probation Department was arraigned on bribery and official misconduct charges Thursday.

Raymontow Davis, 34, is accused of accepting money from a probationer to falsify urine sample test results so the probationer could pass court ordered drug tests.

Davis entered a plea of not guilty.

He must be fitted with GPS if he is released from custody.

Davis is scheduled for another hearing on September 5.

The St. Joseph County Circuit Court released the following statement on Thursday:

The St. Joseph County Adult Probation Department, and all divisions contained within, are under the supervision of the St. Joseph Circuit Court.  The Court immediately terminated the employment of Raymontow Davis following his arrest on August 27, 2019.  Former employee Raymontow Davis was employed as a Laboratory Assistant, never as a Probation Officer, for the Adult Probation Department.  The Adult Probation Department will continue to cooperate with the Prosecutor’s Office regarding this matter and the investigation of any cases in which this individual may have been involved.
