After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The History Museum in South Bend features several memorabilia items that belonged to former Indiana Governor Joe Kernan who passed away on Wednesday.
The items featured at the Museum include:
- Campaign memorabilia, including posters, a pamphlet, a calendar and a napkin from an election event.
- A picture of then-South Bend Mayor Kernan presenting the key to the late J. Oliver Cunningham.
Kernan served as the Mayor of South Bend from 1988 to 1997. He had been battling Alzheimer’s disease.
