Fort Wayne murder suspect arrested at South Bend residence
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A murder suspect out of Fort Wayne was arrested in South Bend on Monday, the South Bend Police Department announced.
Officers surrounded a home in the 2000 block of S. Grant Street on Monday after learning the suspect would be at the home.
Officers called all occupants out of the house and three males exited through a side door.
Robert James, a suspect in a November 5 homicide, was the last to leave the home and was taken into custody.
The Fort Wayne Police Department obtained warrants and officers searched the home and a vehicle parked at the resident.
Firearms and drug evidence were found during the search, according to reports.
Before searching the residence, officers saw a running vehicle outside the home. An infant was found inside the vehicle and was later picked up by a family member.
Another man in the residence, identified as Kenneth Thomas, was arrested for neglect of a dependent and for being a habitual traffic violator.
The third male was questioned and released.
