Four Flags Area Apple Festival cancelled for 2020

NILES, Mich. -- The Four Flags Apple Festival in Niles has been cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 48th annual festival is planned for September 30 - October 3, 2021.

Organizers are working on a plan to have a few events on the festival grounds this year which will follow state safety guidelines.

In a statement to their Facebook page, President Robert Fortune said it was a difficult decision to postpone the event until next year.

"The Four Flags Apple Festival is comprised of board members and volunteers who remain passionate about the Four Flags community. This was an extremely difficult decision and ultimately was one that was made for us due to state restrictions," Fortune wrote in the release.

Vendors who would like to participate in the alternative plans can send a Facebook message to the organization or email [email protected].
