Four Winds Casinos prepares to reopen Monday
NEW BUFFALO, Mich. -- As more restrictions are being lifted in Michigan, we’re seeing more types of industries reopen.
Four Winds Casinos revealed all of the changes visitors can expect when they reopen Monday.
The casino is asking everyone to wear a mask inside and they will operate at 50 percent capacity.
The check-in process at will now start the moment you pull into the parking lot. Security guards will make sure everyone’s 21 or older and also do a health screening.
Once you’re in the building, you’ll pass through a thermal camera that takes your temperature. As long as you’re below 100.4 degrees, you can come in.
Only half of the slot machines and table games will available to allow for social distancing.
“In this particular facility, there’s approximately 2,500 slots – were going to open up with about 1,700,” said Frank Freedman, Four Winds Casinos CEO. “We kept the most popular games up and running and what we’ve done to social distance is we’ve taken games out of service that are side by side with other games.”
At certain slot machines, you’ll see an extra barrier put in place.
“We’ve purchased custom made Plexiglas panels to go between myself and the guests that’s playing next to me and the other side as well,” said Freedman.
As for table games, they’ve moved seats from six to three. Plus – Four Winds has also hired staff designated to sanitizing around the clock.
“That will basically be logistically placed around the facility at all high contact, high touch, high traffic areas,” said Freedman.
Once it’s time for a drink, you can still head to a self-service station, but staff will now be there at all times.
“Social distancing will be in place and an attendant will be constantly wiping down the area, with only single use cups allowed and single use packages,” said Craig Lewkowitz, Senior Vice-President of Food and Beverage.
As for the restaurants, they’ll be open too.
“In the venues itself we’ll have single use menus, we’ll even have single use pens. So at the end of the transaction when they’re given a pen to sign, they’ll get to keep that pen,” said Lewkowitz.
All of this, to make sure everyone who comes to Four Winds can join the fun – while still feeling safe.
“When you come to Four Winds, you’re still going to have that great guest service and a really clean, fun, safe environment,” said Freedman.
Four Winds also created provisions that prevent any employee from being penalized if they aren’t comfortable returning to work yet.
All four Four Winds locations reopen at noon Monday.
