The sixth annual Four Winds Invitational kicked off in South Bend for the Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA. It’s the 9th of 22 tournaments on the 2017 schedule and tee off began at 7:30 a.m.
A field of 144 players from the U.S. and all over the globe arrived at the Blackthorn Gold Club Friday and joined in conversation ahead of the big tournament, but it all boiled down to one thing: placing. Not to mention the grand prize of the Four Winds Invitational trophy, a $150,000 tournament purse, and $22,5000.
The goal for many of those players in this weekend-long tournament is to end up in the top ten on the final money list to secure their spot for the LPGA Tour’s 2018 season and continue on.
