SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Franky’s Tacos opened its doors for a grand opening Monday despite the pandemic.
The owner of the new taco restaurant, Francisco Macias, lost his job because of the pandemic and after encouragement from friends, Macias decided now was a good time to go after his true dream.
“It was always the goal since I was a child,” Macias said. “That was always the dream and today it became true.”
Macias hired a group of friends who also lost their jobs and three months later his restaurant came to life.
Franky’s Tacos offers traditional Mexican dishes along with wings and burritos.
Franky’s Tacos is open every day at 2720 Mishawaka Avenue from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
