Free photo sessions for couples

NOW: Free photo sessions for couples

SOUTH BEND, IN.-- Wedding bells have still been ringing throughout the pandemic, but now without some major changes.

One local photographer is doing his part to make sure that his clients' big fay and all the little moments within it are still captured to look back on.

With so many changes to how weddings look this year, Westley Jerdon, with Westley Leon Studios is giving away two free wedding sessions to help brides and grooms have the pictures they always dreamed of to commemorate their big day.

“There's so many fantastic moments throughout the entire day of a wedding day. Dad at the first dance, the bride and groom enjoying their day and actually getting married," said photographer Westley Jerdon.

These are just a few of the moments every bride and groom looks forward to on their wedding day.

But COVID-19 has forced everyone to pivot and make some unconventional changes.

“I just feel like a lot of people now have seen what people have gone through and might be like you know just in case I would just rather not I’ll do x, y, z a smaller wedding maybe something more intimate or a straight up elopement.”

Even to how Jerdon deals with his work every day.

“2020 has been an interesting year for everybody involved but for us in the events industry and weddings specifically it kinda came to a halt for awhile and I’m right on the border of Michigan and Indiana so I have to deal with two separate things going on so it was definitely intriguing," said Jerdon.

From the size of the guest list, to face mask requirements, and even venue changes, being a 2020 engaged couple let alone any event vendor has not been ideal.

However the industry has take life by the reins to make sure couples special days are still able to go on with the needed adaptions.

“It’s a lot of creativity from a lot of my couples and vendors too in this industry. And it’s been very nice to see a lot of people doing really well to try and help out their couples and make the best of an obviously bad situation but you know still celebrate the wedding," said Jerdon.

To help lighten the blow to an industry Jerdon's been apart of for 12 years he created a giveaway.

“Give a way both photography coverage for a small wedding as well as a post wedding session so if they didn’t get the images they wanted originally we can redo that no problem get back in the dress and tux and let’s get out there to take some awesome photos," said Jerdon.

This giveaway is going on through Tuesday September 15th and to sign up Jerdon wants to hear from the couples themselves!

“The Story of 2020. Some are pretty standard the dates got moved and others have been absolutely heart wrenching with things going on in their lives between Covid family and jobs and it’s a culmination of these issues and any ounce of good I can put in the universe for 2020 I’m all about that life right now," said Jerdon.

At the end of the day, a wedding is still a wedding and deserves to be celebrated as such!

“I just want people to have The wedding day that they want as best they can and as safe as they can especially right now," said Jerdon.
