SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The longest college football season in history was in 2024, with Notre Dame and Ohio State playing the National Championship Game on Jan.20, and less than two months later the Irish opened spring practice.

Notre Dame Head Coach Marcus Freeman says while they did make some changes in format, it was important to him and the university to give fans what they want.
