From team mascot to game-winning quarterback

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- One high school quarterback is now the big man on campus.

Just a few weeks ago, Trent Bauer was the Bulldog for his school. He said he loved to dance around and get the crowed pumped up.

But as a former football player, he saw his friends on the field and wanted to wear a different suit.

So Bauer asked his coach if he could try out for the team.

Once Bauer made the team, his coach realized how truly talented the former team mascot was.

"It's like a movie script, couldn't write it any better," said Coach Derrick Thomas. "I didn't know he was the mascot, if I had known, I probably wouldn't have stuck him in."

In his first start of the season, against his team's biggest rival, Bauer scored the game-winning touchdown.
