Ft. Hood suspect allowed to act as own attorney

TEXAS — The suspect in the Fort Hood shooting massacre will be allowed to act as his own attorney.

Major Nidal Hasan passed physical and psychological exams. The tests were ordered after he requested the removal of one of his attorneys.

His defense team will now act as stand-by counsel and sit with him through the trial.

Hasan is accused of killing 13 people during a 2009 at Fort Hood, Texas.
