ELKHART, Ind. -- Signature Lanes in Elkhart and Aspen Tap in Mishawaka are helping host a fundraiser on Saturday that supports the Michael J. Fox Foundation in an effort to fight Parkinson’s Disease.

Steve Squires is the organizer of the fundraiser, and struggles with Parkinson’s, and says there will be a lot of fun to have on Saturday.

“We have a lot of events going on with the silent auction,  we’ve got fifty-fifties, we got raffles, the time machine DeLorean from Back to the Future is going to be here. It'll be here from 9:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. Then, after that, it’s going to Aspen Tap house in Mishawaka until probably 8 p.m. Doubles bowling tournament as well as open bowling for anybody who wants to come in and just donate to the foundation,” said Squires.

Tim Roeglin is still bowling partners with Steve and looks forward to another year bowling to raise awareness for Parkinson’s and help the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

“I’ve known Steve for quite a few years he’s had the Parkinson’s but he wasn’t as bad as he is now and after went for his procedure in Boston and saw the difference that it could make and he asked to do the fundraiser it was hands down got to do it," said Roeglin.

For those unfamiliar with the disease, Steve says it is slightly under Alzheimer’s disease as the fastest growing neurological disease.

“It’s the fastest growing neurological disorder short of Alzheimer’s roughly 1.2 million people in EUS are affected by it they’re actually diagnosed there’s probably about 100,000 more that aren’t better limbo that they don’t know actually have it," said Squires.

The fundraiser will be at Signature Lanes in Elkhart from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. where a doubles bowling tournament, raffles, and silent auctions will take place.

The event will move to Aspen Tap House in Mishawaka from 3 p.m. to about 8 p.m. where the DeLorean from Back to the Future will be available for pictures as well.
