Game Board Guru wants to give away game collection

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend resident wanted to sell his collection of board games, but hit a few road blocks. Now he has made it his mission to make sure every kid in Michiana finds something under the Christmas tree. And he's giving away his collection to do it.

Holiday giving is starting right off South Main Street in South Bend.

"I want to make sure that any and every child has something to open for Christmas," said Tim.

Tim, better known as the Game Board Guru, has been collecting games for more than 30 years.

"it started off as a hobby it became a passion, and now it's out of control."

His 12-by-20 garage is stocked side to side and top to bottom with over 1,000 games.

With the snow piling up, he wants to put his car in the garage.

"these are the ones I'm willing to give away," said Tim.

The Mishawaka native was a self-proclaimed spoiled kid and he wants to make sure others get to experience that same feeling.

"There's nothing better than opening presents under the tree and when you don't have a present it's not fun."

His deal? Free games for kids this Christmas.

"I've got card games, I've got Trivial Pursuit, I've got preschool, teenage through adult."

All you have to do is stop by his stocked garage at 3006 S Main to get a free gift.

And he will get his wish of a garage for the holidays.

"This is my way of saying Merry Christmas and please come by, pick out a game so your child will have something to open for Christmas," said Tim.
