Sunset stifles Miracle's title bid, Northern League Championship to conclude Thursday

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Officials with the Elkhart County Miracle say Game 2 of the Northern League Championship was suspended at their home field Wednesday night due to darkness.

The Miracle were tied with the Northwest Indiana Oilmen 5-5 in the ninth inning before the game was stopped.

Since Game 3 of the best-of-five series was originally scheduled to be played in Whiting, the two teams will finish Game 2 in Whiting on Thursday, and Game 3 will begin as soon as Game 2 is over, if necessary.

Pulling out a win in either the conclusion of Game 2 or in Game 3 will crown the Miracle Northern League Champions.

Miracle fans can watch matchup on the Northwest Indiana Oilmen Network on Facebook starting at 7 p.m.

The Oilmen also posted via Facebook, if you purchased a ticket for Wednesday’s game, it will be valid for Thursday night in Whiting.

They add tickets bought Thursday will also be valid for both the remainder of Game 2 and Game 3. You can still purchase tickets here.
