Garage sets fire in Bridgman

BRIDGMAN, Mich. – A garage in Bridgman went up in flames Monday.

Due to the snow, the fire department had a difficult time putting out the fire. The flames were so bad, the roof of the garage collapsed.

Fire fighters were able to move quick enough to stop the fire from spredding to the near-by house.

"It's very hard, fingers get cold and you are just trying to get warm once you spray water on that fire and put it out.” said Bridgman Assistant Fire Chief Joel Buist. “We had medic and ambulance here so whenever the guys come out they can warm up"

No one was hurt in the fire, and police aren't sure what caused it. Investigation is underway.
