Community Build underway at Kathryn Park
LAPORTE, Ind.-- Day two of strawberry picking is underway at Garwood Orchards and Farm Market in LaPorte.
The farmers market opened May 20 and has offered carry-out services to those who aren't comfortable with the idea of possibly exposing themselves to COVID-19.
Now, strawberries are red and ripe for the picking Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. with the last wagon out at 6 p.m central time.
On Sunday, doors open at 8 a.m., with the last wagon out at 5 p.m central time.
Families stop at market to buy a box first:
$17 for 5lb box (or 3qts for $17)
$32 for 10lb box
Price of u-pick berries included with box purchase.
To keep with social distancing guidelines, families cannot bring their own containers.
Wagon rides to and from the strawberry field will also follow social distancing measures.
Masks are recommended but not required.
