Gas prices expected to rise soon

SOUTH BEND, Ind. --- Gas prices are expected to rise to a six-year seasonal high, according to Bloomberg News.

Gas prices rised last week because of a surge in oil prices.

Gasoline is expected to reach the highest level for this time of year since 2008.

The average price of gas is about $3.68 a gallon.

The jump is driven by the crisis in Iraq and could boost pump prices by 10 cents a gallon.

In Michiana, the average price of gasoline in South Bend is $3.80 a gallon. In Michigan, the average is $3.85.
