George Zimmerman found not guilty

SANFORD, Fla. — George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin Saturday.

Zimmerman has been acquitted of manslaughter and second degree murder. He no longer faces life in prison.

The jury took around 16 hours to deliberate the incident that happened 17 months ago.

They ultimately ruled that when Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin, it was in self-defense. The verdict is sparking protests across the United States.
