Gino Guidugli named Quarterbacks Coach for the Fighting Irish

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish named Gino Guidugli as the Bob and Leslie Mohr Family Quarterbacks Coach.

Guidugli comes to Notre Dame after serving as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at University of Cincinnati during the 2022 season and passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in Wisconsin in January 2023.

Head Coach Marcus Freeman and Guidugli previously worked together at Cincinnati from 2017 to 2020.

“We are thrilled to welcome Gino to our program,” said Freeman. “I have seen firsthand his talent in developing quarterbacks and teaching them how to consistently perform at an elite level in college and go on to have success in the NFL. He also brings a lot of experience in helping guide an offense to execute at a high level. He is a great addition to our staff.”

As a player, Guidugli led Cincinnati to three bowl berths from 2001 to 2005 and earned two team MVP awards and a Freshman All-America selection.

He finished his college career at Cincinnati as the only quarterback to throw for 3,500 or more yards in a season.

Guidugli played professionally in the Canadian Football League and the American Football League before moving into coaching as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan University from 2009 to 2011.

With the Bearcats, Guidugli served as running backs coach in 2017, quarterbacks coach in 2018 and added passing game coordinator to his title in March 2020.

He earned his bachelor's degree in business marketing from Cincinnati and his master's in sport administration from Central Michigan.
