Go Red for Women

 

ELKHART, Ind. -- Did you know that 1 in 3 women die each year from heart disease or stroke?

This alarming statistic is one of the many reasons the American Heart Association and Elkhart County are hosting their annual Go Red for Women luncheon.

This annual event brings the community together to help support, educate, and advocate for women's heart health.

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Lerner Theater is Elkhart with a variety of activities you can participate in including health screenings, CPR tutorials, a healthy lunch, and a panel of doctors discussing all things heart health.

The proceeds raised at the event will go towards research, educational programs, and advocacy measures to help target heart disease, stroke, and other heart related illnesses throughout Michiana.

ABC57's own morning anchor, Jennifer Lee will be hosting the station sponsored event.
