Gobles man caught with a handgun in road rage

GOBLES, Mich. -- It was a scary situation for a driver in Gobles.

In a violent display of road rage, deputies say a man pulled out a loaded .357 caliber revolver handgun and acted aggressively toward passengers in a car, who he says were tailgating.

The 34-year-old suspect told police he was upset that the victims almost caused an accident, and he pulled out this gun in a moment of rage.

The victims, a 29-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man from Paw Paw, Mich., received no physical injuries, but police say they were extremely shaken by the ordeal.

Van Buren County deputies say not only does the suspect not have a gun permit, but the weapon is unregistered.

The suspect is charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor charge, including Felonious Assault, Felony Firearm Violation, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of an Unregistered Hand Gun.

Bond was set at $10,000.  He is currently being held in the Van Buren County Jail.
