GoFundMe reaching goal for family that lost animals in barn fire

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – After a barn fire on CR 9 that killed cows and other farm animals on Sunday, a neighbor has created a GoFundMe to help the affected family.

Dispatch received news of the fire around 11:27 pm on Saturday, with reports of two barn fires. One fire was on the 600 block of CR 9, and the other was on CR 38.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames around 2 am.

No injuries were reported at the scene, but the family’s barn animals did not make it.

There is no word on what sparked the flames by officials.
