Goshen College to shut down pool

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Many Goshen College students are upset of the move to shut down the pool.

Some students said they claimed hundreds of signatures asking the college to keep the pool open.

The college is preparing to permanently shutdown the pool on Friday.

College officials say that the pool had become too costly.

"The pool has been a fiscal challenge giving the cost of the operation relative to the use," Bill Born, vice president of student life, said.

The rest of the recreation and fitness center will remain open.

The school has not decided what to do with the space the pool currently occupies.
