Goshen Community Schools voting on new mascot to replace "Redskin"

Days ago, the nominations for the new Goshen Community Schools mascot were submitted, and now the top 15 finalists are ready to be narrowed down to three choices.
The Goshen Community School Board made the decision over the summer to retire the current Redskins mascot starting January 1, 2016.
Goshen Middle and High Schools are voting for the top three, after a total of 97 mascot submissions. The list includes:
- Bulldogs
- Cardinals
- Crimson Storm
- Dragons
- Firebirds
- Gladiators
- Greyhounds
- Griffins
- Grizzlies
- Pride
- Raptors
- Red Devils
- Red Hawks
- Spartans
- Wolfpack
On Friday morning, the top three finalists will be announced and students can create and submit their own graphics between October 9-12, but those drawings will be taken to artists for professional work.
The final vote from students and staff will be completed November 13.
