Goshen hospital discovers time capsule from 1950s
GOSHEN, Ind. – Goshen Hospital discovered a time capsule that was buried in 1953 while doing construction on a new patient tower.
According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, hospital officials plan to unveil the contents of the time capsule at a public ceremony on Monday.
It appears that those who buried the capsule sealed away photos and documents to commemorate construction of the original hospital in Goshen.
“We hope to get a glimpse into our predecessors’ vision for health care in our community,” said Randy Christophel, Goshen Health president and CEO.
The capsule will be on display at 11 a.m. in the Birch and Walnut conference rooms of Goshen Hospital.
The new patient tower, which is expected to be completed in 2022, will hold the capsule on display when finished.
