Goshen man succumbs to injuries following collision with rock wall, pole

GOSHEN, Ind. – A crash in Goshen Saturday evening left one man dead, authorities say.

According to Goshen police, at approximately 8:56 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2018 Lorenzo Ramierez was traveling in the 800 block of Wilden Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle.

Police say Ramierz veered off the roadway, striking a rock wall and Nipsco pole which caused the vehicle to overturn.

Ramirez was trapped in the vehicle and fire personnel used heavy extrication to free him, officials say.

Ramirez was successfully extricated when emergency responders attempted to perform life-saving CPR.

CPR efforts were unsuccessful and officials report he succumbed to his injuries.

No word on when an autopsy is scheduled to be performed.

The investigation is ongoing.
