Thirty-three-year-old Timothy Schneider is charged with two counts of Intimidation: Defendant draws or uses a deadly weapon, both Level 5 Felonies, three counts of Intimidation: Threat is to commit a forcible felony, all Level 6 Felonies, Unlawful Use of Body Armor def. uses body armor while committing a felony, a Level 6 Felony, and Interference with Reporting of a Crime - interferes w/prevents victim from 911, a Misdemeanor.

Schneider's first hearing is Thursday.

On Monday around 3:05 p.m., Goshen police responded to a call regarding Schneider allegedly carrying a firearm around and displaying threatening behavior toward three of his family members.

The family members had locked themselves in an upstairs bedroom while Schneider was armed and allegedly told the caller "if police arrive there will be blood bath."

The caller said the issues started with Schneider after a verbal argument over a friend.

Police say when they arrived and knocked on the garage door, Schneider went back upstairs to the bedroom door demanding an explanation as to why officers were on scene.

The caller told police the three of them were unable to escape through the second story window due to medical limitations and issues. The caller told police Schneider had cocked and loaded a handgun.

At that time, the caller said Schneider was trying to open the door, so the three family members moved a bed in front of it.

The caller said that's when Schneider said if he was going down, he was going to take the family with him. The family members explained Schneider had been upset all day over custody issues with his ex-partner.

The family said Schneider had been wearing his tactical vest all day with his handgun holstered in it.

They stated his behavior was causing them concern, so they called 911, at which time Schneider allegedly unholstered his handgun and pointed it towards the ground and ordered them to get off the phone with police.

They explained once the 911 call was ended, Schneider calmed down a bit, so they took the opportunity to head to the bedroom.

After the standoff with police Schneider surrendered and exited the house still wearing a tactical sash.

Inside the sash officers found a loaded Beretta branded handgun and body armor.

Schneider later clarified the sash contained level three ballistic plates. He stated he uses it for protection, and he had it on during the incident.

When later interviewed by police, Schneider stated he did tell his family members, "if he was going to Valhalla he was going to take them with him."

He explained that in order to go to Valhalla one must be armed with a weapon and die while in combat.

Schneider stated after the caller hung up on police the first time, and they went behind his back by going upstairs in the bedroom to call police, he told the caller he was "being p****" and he would "beat his a**."

UPDATE: The Goshen Police Department has confirmed the suspect in the Kansas Drive standoff as 33-year-old Timothy Schneider. Police previously reported his age as 34.

Schneider is charged with Intimidation, Interfering with the Reporting of a Crime, and Unlawful Use of Body Armor.
