SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (Transpo) held a hiring event for those looking for fixed driver and ADA positions.

The event ran from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Aug. 22, attendees were able to apply and do an on-site interview.

Chris Kubaszak, General Manager and CEO of SB Transpo, said ADA drivers are currently the biggest need, "Those are individuals that drive the smaller buses and so they pick up people that basically cannot either ride a fixed route bus or need assistance."

Kubaszak also says meeting new people and helping the community is the best part of working at Transport, "I think the majority of what's great working here is the amount of people you meet. You know, your fellow drivers, your riders, and seeing how valuable you are to the community in the service you provide.
