Gov. Daniels to give out jump ropes to trick-or-treaters

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Mitch Daniels is getting set for trick-or-treaters to parade upon the Governor’s Mansion, but the Indiana governor doesn’t plan on handing out just candy.

Daniels plans on passing out jump ropes to the first 200 trick-or-treaters who stop by the governor's mansion on Halloween night. The governor will also pass out candy provided by Indiana businesses.

Donations include chocolate bars and pecan caramels from DeBrand Fine Chocolates of Fort Wayne; chocolate bars from Good’s Candy Shop of Anderson; chocolate-dipped pretzel twists from Schimpff’s Confectionery of Jeffersonville; and candy corn and fruit jells from Zachary Confections of Frankfort.

The governor, the first lady, and their staff plan to dress up for the occasion. They'll be characters from the Addams Family.

The governor and first lady will host trick-or-treaters from 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday.  The Governor’s Residence is located at 4750 North Meridian Street in Indianapolis.
