Gov. Snyder: Michigan flags to remain at full-staff on Friday

MICHIGAN -- Michigan Governor Rick Snyder today ordered flags to remain at full staff on Friday, Sept. 23.

The governor previously ordered flags lowered Friday in honor of U.S. Naval Special Warfare Operator Senior Chief Petty Officer Heath Robinson, of Petoskey, but the immediate family then requested moving the honor to a later date.

34-year-old Robinson was killed along with 29 other service members who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

They died Aug. 6 in Wardak province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when their CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed.
