SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Hundreds of people gathered at the Century Center in downtown South Bend Tuesday for the 2019 Salute to Business.
The awards luncheon was sponsored by the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb gave the keynote address.
He spoke about the state's economy and road improvements as well as increasing teacher pay.
"To make sure that we're positioning ourselves so that teachers around us and neighboring states aren't attracting more of our own talent," Governor Holcomb said.
The governor is pushing education and vocational training as part of his Next Level Jobs program to help fill high demand, high wage jobs.
