Grace Ross murder suspect in court for status hearing

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The teen who is accused of killing Grace Ross was in court Wednesday for a hearing about options for housing Anthony Hutchens while he awaits trial.

Hutchens has been charged with murder in adult court and is being housed at the St. Joseph County Jail.

The hearing Wednesday was to discuss options for housing Hutchens.

At the county jail, Hutchens is not being held with adult offenders, but his attorneys say being in the jail with adults is not good for his mental state.

One of the options presented was transferring Hutchens to the Allen County Jail.

The court is expected to issue a written order related to this issue.

Hutchens will be in court again on May 4 at 9 a.m. for another status hearing.
