Grand LV hosting local vendors for unique Valentine's Day event
NILES, Mich. -- The Grand LV is a special event space that is typically used for weddings, but with much of that put on hold and their calendar being wide open this month, they’re offering a special way to celebrate the day of love that also celebrates small businesses.
“We thought we’d offer it to small shops, local vendors who don’t have their own storefront and would possibly want to get their feet wet trying it out and have the ability to use the building for something else,” said owner Melanie Kennedy.
The Grand LV has spent the last few weekends lending their banquet hall to local vendors with unique, homemade products but just lacking a space to showcase them.
This weekend will be all focused on pampering you and your loved ones.
“We have a lot of self-care type of things,” said Kennedy. “We have soap vendors, natural skincare, we have a clothing vendor on the books right now, a cookies vendor and she plans on doing a little Valentine’s Day theme.”
Plus, stop by Gabrizio’s bakery just next door for something sweet with your sweetheart.
“What we like to tell people is just come out on Saturday morning, grab your coffee, shop around, just get out of the house,” said Kennedy.
All in an effort to celebrate the holiday in an unique way and support local business owners who really need it.
“It’s been eye opening to realize you don’t need to go to the mall, you don’t need to run to the big box stores, you can come here and it’s small, safe and local – and you’re supporting these local families,” said Kennedy.
“Shop Small” at The Grand LV goes from 10 – 4 p.m. Saturday, February 13 and will host nearly ten vendors.
They will host another the following weekend that will feature antique items.
