Guilty verdict served in deadly shooting of mother in downtown South Bend

UPDATE: Kimarie Wright was sentenced to 10 years behind bars today for the shooting of 32-year-old Kaylynn Davidson, according to court documents. 

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A jury found a woman guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a mother in downtown South Bend in May of 2022, according to court documents.

Kimarie Wright now faces sentencing for her role in the death of 32-year-old Kaylynn Davidson on South Michigan Street.

According to police reports, Davidson was the mother of five-year-old Kyler Jackson, who was accidentally shot and killed by a nine-year-old relative just days before his mother's death.

Wright was formally charged of murder and voluntary manslaughter, but the murder charge was dismissed.

Wright was found not guilty for firearm enhancement. 

Her sentencing is scheduled for December 4.
