Gulf oil spill trial postponed for a week

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The legal battle over the worst oil spill in U.S. history has been delayed.

A civil trial stemming from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster was scheduled to begin in Louisiana Monday morning, but it's now been pushed back by a week until March 5.

BP, one of the defendants, said the delay will give them more time to continue settlement talks.

The plaintiffs include fishermen, hotel owners and gulf coast residents.
