Gunshot victim walks into local hospital after shooting
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Dispatch confirmed reports of shots fired at 4:32 p.m. on Sunday.
The shooting occurred at 501 W. Calvert in South Bend.
An Officer leaving the scene says the victim is a young adult male who sustained one gunshot wound reported to be non-life threatening.
The victim does not know who shot him.
He is believed to have walked into Memorial Hospital around 5:00 p.m. and says that someone transported him there but is not sure who.
The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown at this time.
An investigation team is currently at Memorial Hospital trying to figure out what the victim was doing in the location of the shooting because he does not live in the area.
Investigators have witnesses that they are questioning.
There are no safety concerns in the area at this time.
