Habitat for Humanity collaboration with Cultivate Food Rescue

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart County's Habitat for Humanity has announced their collaboration with Cultivate Food Rescue. The partnership aims to support families while they begin their journey in a new Habitat home.

“At Habitat, we build homes that provide stability, and thanks to Cultivate, families will now walk into homes that also offer nourishment. It’s a powerful example of how two local nonprofits can come together to provide not just shelter, but support and dignity.” said Greg Conrad, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County.

Cultivate Food Rescue is committed to stocking the refrigerator and freezer at the time of a home dedication.

This initiative coincides with Cultivates expansion into Elkhart County after a recent opening of a facility in late 2024. The new location increases the ability to engage with other local organizations and expand Cultivates mission.

"Partnering with Habitat exemplifies why we expanded to Elkhart — to build meaningful relationships that directly serve the local community." said Laura McNally, the Director of Outreach for Cultivate Food Rescue.

Cultivates collaboration will help offer full meals and immediate relief during the transition into a new home.
