SOUTH BEND, Ind. - It's not everyday you get a Hall of Famer to show up in your city.
However, South Bend and specifically Four Winds Field was graced with Cubs legend and Hall of Famer, Andre Dawson, Thursday night. Dawson threw out the first pitch of the second game of the South Bend Cubs and Lansing Lugnuts doubleheader.
Even though South Bend would drop both games, the 1987 National League MVP shed some light on what it takes to get to the big leagues.
"You're going to have tough times, this game as I mentioned is not easy and it's just not cut out for everyone and you'll know that early and often but you know if you dream big, anything could happen but you got to really sacrifice and dedicate yourself to work in that direction," Dawson said.
