Halloween ride along with Mishawaka Police

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -

Halloween night is one of the most dangerous times for pedestrians.

“Our goal is to make this an enjoyable time that they will remember for a lifetime, not just remember through pictures,” said Lt. Tim Williams with Mishawaka Police.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2015 106 people died in motor vehicle accidents on Halloween night.

More than half of those deaths involved a drunk driver.

During trick-or-treat hours, Mishawaka Police patrolled neighborhoods and looked for aggressive drivers.

Increased DUI patrols will continue throughout the night.
