A fire in South Bend leaves building ablaze
The heat continues to build this holiday weekend. This morning we are already in the upper 60's with temperatures breaking into the 80's around noon. We'll see highs rise into the 90's this afternoon, there will also be plenty of sunshine. Today will be a perfect late-summer beach day, but a bit of a breeze with help to kick up some waves on Lake Michigan with a moderate swim risk expected. The sunny and hot weather lasts through the end of the holiday weekend with highs tomorrow that will be just a few degrees shy of the record. Humidity will have it feeling closer to 100, be sure to stay hydrated and cool over the next few days. Highs near 90 stay in the forecast through mid-week, but storms are expected to arrive Wednesday, breaking the heat. Near-normal temperatures take over the second half of the 10-day forecast.
Today: Mostly sunny and hot. A little breezy. High 91.
Tonight: Clear. Low 70.
Labor Day (Monday): Mostly sunny and hot. High 92.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy and hot. High 90.
