Hellenic Senior Living in Elkhart responds to major pipe burst
Hellenic Senior Living ELKHART, Ind. -- Hellenic Senior Living responded to a pipe burst that occurred on Sunday morning affecting 20 apartment units and damaged the building's electrical panel.
All residents are safe, and the staff acted quickly to ensure the area and relocated all residents to other assisted living communities where they continue to receive care.
The Elkhart facility damage is being assessed, and Hellenic Senior Living is advised that in 24 hours the water-damaged electrical panel will be evaluated by Gaylor Electric.
Damage sustained to the facilities kitchen has been assessed and the equipment needed to be order will be finalized on Monday.
Alternative housing options for residents include staying temporarily with family or relocating to Hellenic Senior Living in Mishawaka or Indianapolis.
