NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame freshman guard Hannah Hidalgo is now in a league of her own, breaking the Irish record held for conference Rookie of the Week honors, topping the list with seven.

The former record of six was held by Jacqueline Batteast (Big East), Alicia Ratay (Big East), Brianna Turner (ACC) and Hidalgo's current teammate, Sonia Citron (ACC).

All four of those players went on to receive Rookie of the Year honors in their conference.

The overall ACC record for Rookie of the Week awards was set last year by Florida State's Ta'Niya Latson, with 10.

During Notre Dame's close 71-66 victory over Pittsburgh Thursday, Hidalgo poured in 24 points, which is the 11th time this season she has posted over 20 points in a game, ranking her third in Irish freshman history.

The record is held by Beth Morgan at 13.

During Notre Dame's heartbreaking loss to the Tarheels Sunday, Hidalgo added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, marking her fourth double-double of the season and third in her last five games.

Adding to her lengthy stat sheet, Hidalgo's 74 steals this year are leading the ACC, and bringing her closer to the Notre Dame freshman record set by Skylar Diggins at 90.
