High school students learn geography with drone technology

Students from New Tech High School visited Indiana University South Bend for Geographic Information Systems Day.

The students learned about geography and geography-related technology through the use of drones.

They did activities like aerial mapping, geocaching, and using Google Earth. Students even got to take a selfie using cameras on the drone.

IUSB said the GIS day activities were done in attempt to get local high school students interested in the field of geography.
