A High Wind Warning has been issued for all of Michiana, beginning at 5 AM and expiring at 8 PM.
It will be VERY windy today with sustained winds around 30 mph and gusts upwards of 50 mph. Some winds could get up to 60 mph. All unsecured outdoor items will take flight today. There very well could be power outages due to high winds. Drivers are at risk of drifting, and high-profile vehicles have the increased risk of possibly tipping over.
Jumping head to the weekend, Saturday looks to be dry but cool for the St. Patrick's Day Parade in South Bend. However, Sunday will really showcase the fickleness of March. Sunday is dry through most of the day, but showers and storms will move through in the evening.
A very strong temperature dive will follow bringing snow to the area. Temperatures will fall from the 60s down to the 20s in just a few hours. It is still a bit early for snowfall amounts-- we will keep you posted. The ground will be cold and will likely cause slushy roads Monday and Tuesday.
The rest of next week is much calmer, with temperatures slowly Becoming more reasonable.
