Hillary Clinton to visit Mishawaka Tuesday
Hillary Clinton will be in Indiana on Tuesday to discuss manufacturing in the state.
She will start out the day in Gary touring Munster Steel.
Then she will tour the AM General plant in Mishawaka. After the tour she will deliver remarks to employees on her "Make it in America" plan.
“I believe that she’s likely to be the next president of the United States so it never hurts to have her learn thing or two about our hometown before she takes office," said Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Local political leaders say Clinton's visit proves how important the county and the state are in this year's primary race.
"It shows that St. Jo. County is a major player in the state of Indiana as far as the Democratic party goes and politics in general," said Debbie Ladyga-Block, Vice-Chair of the Democratic Party of St Joseph County.
“Its exciting that Indiana matters this year. You know, a lot of times the nomination is behind us by the time it gets to Indiana so I think that’s exciting, its bringing a lot of energy and I hope the community really gets engaged," said Mayor Buttigieg.
ABC 57 News will have continuous coverage of Clinton's stop in Mishawaka Tuesday.
