Hip-hop star B.o.B. to perform at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND — The Compton Ice Arena on Notre Dame's campus is transforming into a stage to house hip-hop star B.o.B. The star will headline the university's third student-run concert.

It takes a crew an entire day to convert the sheet of ice into a performance stage.

"So we have the capability of more than just ice," said Michael Sheggeby, operations manager. "You know concerts, like I said this is our third one, so hopefully we can do a lot more. It's exciting to offer this to the students here."

Thursday night they started laying out the ice deck floor that covers the entire service.

They also started moving in all the staging and started to set up lighting.
