Holy Cross College receives anonymous $2.25M commitment for student spaces
Holy Cross College at Notre Dame: Student Union rendering SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Holy Cross College at Notre Dame announced on Tuesday that it has received a commitment of $2.25 million from anonymous individual donors to support the transformation of two sacred campus spaces.
College officials say this includes a new Residence Hall Chapel and the future Center for Campus Ministry within the upcoming Student Union.
The donation is said to have been made in support of the College’s Courage to Act Campaign and officials say this is the largest gift from individual donors in the college's history.
Holy Cross officials say $750,000 has been designated for the Residence Hall Chapel while $1.5 million will go to the Center for Campus Ministry.
“Sacred spaces matter because they shape how students live, pray, and grow together,” said President Marco Clark. “This extraordinary gift allows us to create places on campus where students can pause, reflect, and encounter Christ within a vibrant community rooted in the Holy Cross tradition.”
The chapel is scheduled to open in the new residence hall in August. Officials say this space was designed as a place for quiet reflection, communal prayer, and liturgical celebration.
Officials say the Center for Campus Ministry will serve as a visible and welcoming home for spiritual life at Holy Cross College.
The center is meant to support worship, retreats, pastoral care, service opportunities, and faith-based programming that accompany students throughout their college journey.
