Hoosiers encouraged to take part in earthquake ShakeOut prep drill

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security wants all Hoosiers to take part in an earthquake drill.

This comes on the heels of the 200th anniversary of the 1812 New Madrid earthquakes. Officials are encouraging Hoosiers to register online, and they say it only takes five minutes.

Organizers of the drill ask that participants register and, at the minimum, practice "drop, cover, and hold on" at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

More than 600,000 Hoosiers have already registered for the Great Central U.S. ShakeOut.
